Your Stamp of the Day

Here's the newest addition to my Air Mail collection. A nice C5 that has a new home.

 

Great looking stamp! I love those early airmails.

 

An addition to my One Per Day set in this Scott #70 cancelled on August 3rd somewhere in Maryland. Nice blue cancel. Cancelled twice which leads me to believe that there were more than one on the cover/package. I would have thought 24 cents would have been more than enough to cover postage for most any destinations.

 

This design is one of my favorites of the classic U.S. stamps. I'm hoping to eventually acquire all 5 shades of the Scott 70, I'm still lacking 2, but one of them is relatively easy.
