I buy albums and take what I need and store the rest. If you would like more like these let me know. Are you only interested in people on stamps? I just got an album with mint but hinged stamps. The hinge marks reduce the value a lot so I would be glad to send some either on album pages of off. Jim
I like to collect history themed stamps. Well, I know that every stamp is about history somehow, but I'm talking about those invention themed stamps and such, if you know what I'm talking about. I just love them, and I find them pretty amazing!
I collect used stamps from around the world. My focus is however mostly on Africa and Indian Ocean stamps.
I collect stamps from all over the world. I like individual stamps and I am looking for "the cape of good hope" stamp that was used in Africa. The original stamp came out with only one penny and they changed it to two denominations a few years later. The one I am looking for is with the one denomination. I doubt anyone will have it but keep a look out for it because it is a rare one.
Her is a snapshot of my first page of Cape of Good Hope. I think you are talking about the triangles. As I remember there are a lot of varieties.
Watch out for the version that says "Gibbons Stamp Weekly one Penny" around the center. Gibbons put out a weekly magazine that started in 1905. It cost a penny a week to subscribe. This is a snapshot of the first edition cover with the stamp you are talking about modified as a logo. If you were a collector in the 70's you probably remember Howard Wheil and his brother advertising their stamp shop on Royal Street in New Orleans. It was as common as Mystic ads are now. They used a mint pair in their ads. They kept them in the window of their shop in New Orleans
Obviously I have too much time available right now as I an still talking about this. I glanced through the first few issues of the Gibbons weekly. Did you know they included a mint stamp in some of the issues? All for one penny an issue. Here's a snapshot.
Thank you for this!!! The stamp that has the triangle is almost like that one, apparently it had 2 triangles on opposite sides, they only made 10 and there is one in storage at the house of parliament. The others I don't know. That is a fantastic collection there!
Wolves. Not a person named Wolfe, but the four legged mammal. I do not care if it is foreign of domestic, 1 year or 100 years old, new or canceled. If it has a picture of a wolf I want it.
Interesting to know that you are that fascinated about wolfs. Are you just starting to collect wolf stamps or you already have many?
