3 to 10 Pf. exist in three types, all others in two,
except of 60 Pf.,what exists in one type (type II)
    only.The Mark-values also have two types.The
differ in the thickness of the 1911 and two more
    details.

The Bayern (Bavaria) set exists with one watermark
only. The Pfennig-values have the watermark in
horizontal lines, the Mark-values in vertical lines.

Have a number of these as well James... thanks for helping with sorting out at least this little 'pile'.

    Makanudo:

To help me with some of the world-wide stuff, I recently went to the BidStart auctions and scored (from two sellers) a complete set of used Scott Catalogues. I will use them mainly for identification of older stamps of individuals and stamp series.

The books I bought are not sequential: for example the #4, #5, and #6 are from 2011, the #2 and #3 are from 2013 and I bought a #1 and a US Specialized as well from another source. But I mostly collect anything before 2005 so these should do nicely until I get serious about collecting!

Altogether, all the books cost me $110 and, though older, they will still help tremendously with the identification. I am not looking particularly for values -- as many of us say here in the forums, we hope to maybe make some money back on sale of duplicates but it is most DEFINITELY NOT a foolproof investment strategy. Most of us are in it for the hunt, not necessarily for the prize!

I should have NEVER gone to this site... ;) now I have to read the Arduino articles as well as the stamps and coins, plus catch up on a number of OTHER readings... I have a lot of other interests outside of this hobby.

Thanks muchly for the link... another way to spend pleasant time seeing what the rest of the world is doing...:couchpotato:

I guess I should add: now that I will have the books, I will take a more active response to ID of stamps since I will be able to categorize my groupings and help others with theirs as well. So keep the questions coming!!!

Hello all, most of my catalogues are from the mid 80s and most are in the UK. Here I have an SG (1912) Britain and commonwealth, SG17 1986 - China, SG21 2004 - SEA Cambodia, Indo-China, Indonesia, Laos, Myanma (Burma), Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, Timor, Vietnam - Also 2009 & 2014 Thai/English Catalogues.

If anyone would like me to search any of these I will be happy to help.

    Regards, James.

This is the closest I found: Maghrebian Posts and Telecommunications Committee... the flags in the stamp are Tunisia, Yemen, Algeria, and Morocco. I suspect yours is from Morocco or Yemen, just looking at the script.

I am in Mexico right now and will look at the cats when I get back to the US.

Hello Dread, my arabic is extremely rusty, so not sure of the country, but it represents post and telecommications for 1973 - 1979.
The four flags represent Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Yemen.
    I shall continue to look.
    Regards James
    PS I misread the Arabic numbers. ١٩٦٤ - ١٩٦٩ = 1964 - 1969

from Libya´s set of four from 1970.It was issued
for the union of arab countries for the reception
    of news via satellites.
