Just wanted to bump this thread back up, for anyone who is looking for a good site to identify US stamps.
That someone is me. LOL. This is very useful for a newbie in collecting stamps. I'll take note of this as it might come in handy when I'm having concerns to ID early US stamps.
and you can always scan the stamp, up to 1mb and put on here we have a lot of US collectors here with a mass of knowledge, i am more the GB expert if you need any help with them
you maybe should check out Delcampe or eBay for great deals but make darn sure you read the descriptions and shipping costs especialy on Delcampe. Here is a quick link-http://www.delcampe.net/page/list/l...tates-1847-99-General-issues-Used-stamps.html
Put up a scan I know a little about them although I don't own any yet I may be able to either tell you or point you in the right direction.
Thanks so much for the link to: http://www.theswedishtiger.com/usstamps/ I especially like the black background as it makes the stamps a lot clearer to see. It is a very professional site.
Sarah try this link. I got the same message and backed into the site by back-spacing the "usstamps" part of the link. http://www.theswedishtiger.com/
