hi , can anyone help me with some stamps any information about them would be great , are these schermack perforation stamps , they have 2c on them , thanks
Yes, they are Schermack perforation stamps. Other than that you have to check them for watermark or no watermark, type of printing: rotary, flat plate or offset and for type. There are numerous varieties of the 2c Washington. These stamps are still first categorized by their catalog number with the Schermack caveat. Here's a little more info on Schermack stamps. http://www.slingshotvenus.com/stamps/stampimages/Fake320images/Schermack_Type_III_doc.pdf
Something ELSE I learned today... thanks for sharing! I have seen some of the rouletted perfs before but never this one!
A couple of auction lots got me interested in privately perforated stamps some years ago. I've a number of them, but the niche never got me intrigued enough to go deep into it. Many of them are quite inexpensive. It is an interesting area of U.S. collecting nonetheless.
Your DSC09989.jpg attachment is a really nice looking stamp. Clean borders, good color and a light enough cancellation that is doesn't detract from the stamp. It's a keeper.
I could see those stamps on some sites but I am not aware of Schermack stamps. Thanks for the links and the info.
i have some more interesting looking usa stamps from the same album , i will try and post them on here , thanks
Do you have a Scott Specialized US catalog? They have listings on Schermack perfs not found in the regular catalog.
