US Stamp Scott 1 Used 1847 5c Red Cancel (Is this worth $179)

I would personally choose a different #1, one that didn't have a diagonal cut at the top left corner. A sound 4 border stamp would probably sell for a lot more, but that is what I would look for. As many people have commented over the years, "a stamp is worth what another person is willing to pay for it". A lot of collectors would pass on that stamp, something to keep in mind as eventually most collections go on the market.
