all right already... I'm sorry. Just the one was ripped and I mentioned it. Your 12¢ Clay, 15¢ Webster and your 24¢ Scott was a little banged up up top there was all I was referring to. If it makes you feel better you can send them to me for safe keeping? lol
Just ragging you now, no harm meant.......having a little fun. Like I said over time, I have up graded some, and will up grade as time and money allows. Thanks for liking them......
I love them! On another note I found a #444 vertical coil, Single line watermark, 2¢ Carmine Washington head while sorting today! Yaaay me! lol only $10.00 but I'll take it! Also I love your baby banknotes! I need the #258 & a sound #282c (and a #261) I think anyway? I need the 2 that have the same design but are in 2 different colors and the few around them. Last bureau issues that I can't recall off the top off my head at the moment.
Yep, one day I will get back to the Washington/Franklin Series. I have filled in many spots by buying lots and collections. Its amazing how those hold up so much better than the banknotes. Wonder if the paper is that much different. I will post the rest of the baby banknotes when I get time.......
I wish i could afford to purchase lots and collections. I bet you have have tons of dupes I need from doing that. I'm alittle depressed today. A lot of discouraging news came down the chute and I was not prepared for it... Oh well I will get by one way or another.
Same here Jay!! I've actually begun to stock up on some trade material by buying stockbooks from different collections that have showed up at the club auction. Mostly US stuff from the 20s-60s and BOB, but I've actually filled some empty spots in my album this way.
Not many dups, Jay. What I dont need, I sell to buy more collections. Its one big revolving door..........lol
That's the way to do it though. some of those lots are thousands of dollars though! Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places perhaps?
If you don't mind at all where do you look and purchase these stock books? I only ever bought 1 from Dave (BionicBelly) and loved all the trade stuffs. It was all foreign (non-U.S.) and Tom ended up with the bulk of it! lol What a great guy he is! Actually, you all are great friends and I certainly hope it works out that I can continue my hobby in the near future.
Most of my lots have come from ebay. You have to go to the different ebay sites of different countries too. Like GB, Australia, Canada, etc. Have bought many collections from other countries, and knock on wood, have not been burned yet.......lol
If I can I'm going to try that Kris. I just have reservations about paying over $100.00 on auction sites is all.
I've always been a little afraid of making purchases of high$ on eBay. I see collections on there all the time that I'd love to take a bid at but never do. I usually just save up for the monthly stamp club auction I go to. You can get some pretty good deals on stuff. I get stockbooks full of all sorts of stuff.. usually for around $10.... the stockbook alone is worth that
After you buy several lots for more than $100, you dont worry about it anymore. You are full protected with ebay. I bought a lot from the Netherlands for about $75 and a month or so went by and never received it. I open a claim with ebay, and within days, they refunded my money.
