So, stamp collectors. When's the last time you actually mailed something? With email and social media, it seems people don't send mail very much anymore. Personally, I haven't sent a letter in about five years or so. When's the last time you did?
I forgot. That usually means it's such a long time ago that I can't remember about it >_> But I still receive physical mail though! Bills, advertisement, magazine subscriptions, letters from banks......Oh you mean handwritten letters? Sorry, I forgot about that too Must be a long time ago. Come to think of it I haven't write a REAL letter for a long time now
I wrote a letter to woman I know just the other day. I used a nice stamp from one of the sheets I have. I think it might be a lost cause though. Maybe she'll keep the stamp
yesterday, i posted a registered air mail, a normal snail mail envelope, a picture post card from the Madras GPO. I even opened a philatelic stamp account in my GPO to receive newer stamp issues. I spent around 2 hours in my GPO, a really great heritage structure, built by the British. I do visit my General Post Office, for about once a week. It is at walkable distance. The Anna Salai GPO, which is another GPO in my city of Chennai, hosts the philatelic exhibition every saturday, i am regular visitor to this stamp exhibit show where i could collect other stamp collectors. This Anna Salai GPO has a Philatelic Bureau, where i currently purchase mint stamps. I visit both the GPO's in my city once in a week. What Manny is asking here is about a hand written letter, even i do not write much, i type out all my personal and official letters. Being a Pen Pal would be great to get in to the habit of again writing down letters. Warm wishes.
I mail letters on a weekly basis, to my family that live in Malta and all throughout Europe, even though the social media and email sectors have all but taken over the mailing system, I still think that mailing letters written by hand are more personal and is indeed very relevant in today's society.
about 20 days ago .... mailed the bills in the post i dont trust the web thing that much, i guess you can say, i am old school =)
I don't know if she collects stamps or not. She sent a very nice reply, though, and used something other than just a standard stamp
Got curious on how that special stamp looks like. Last time I mailed a letter was when I was in high school and that was more than 10 years ago.
I can relate to that. Doing money related transactions online is worrying, cause you never know if someone can get your bank account numbers or credit card numbers. But it's actually not that dangerous now. As long as you take the right precautions or steps, you can still keep a good eye on your money. It's actually rather convenient that things are done online, which is why so many people are doing it.
I think the last time I mailed something was 2 years ago. I didn't even have to put a stamp on the letter either as it was one of those free return envelopes.
It's been years, e-mail kinda took over so I haven't really had a need to post something. I think it was about 2 or 3 years ago, I needed to post something for a job application. That's if my memory serves me
I like e-mail to a certain degree but there isn't anything than can compare to being able to send and receive a physical letter, I actually much prefer it.
I live in constant fear of on day having to actually mail a letter. I've completely forgotten what information one needs to include. At least I'll have the stamps I need.
I posted a Birthday card over this weekend to my brother who lives in USA. I could have wished him over phone or Skype but I wanted him to have a little surprise so that's why I sent him a card by mail. It has 26 stamps (including 1 miniature sheet) on it. Stamps at the rear were used for Registering Post.
