The "Drachenfelsbahn" is the best known cog-wheel-rail in Germany. It goes up the Drachenfels,a mountain near Bonn.On top is the ruin of a medieval castle (top right of the stamp).It is one of the most visited tourist spots of the country. By the way the "Kölner Dom" (Cologne Cathedreal) is built by stones of quarries at the Drachenfels. When I was a youngster there was a major rail-desaster.Many people died when a train derailed at a steep part.Since then the steam engines were put out of service and were replaced by electric loks.
