Hi everyone. I am getting ready to begin mounting my stamps. I am planning to use Showgard mounts. However, I have a question concerning the size of mount to order. Being my collection is primarily British related countries, I plan to purchase strips and cut to width. I have read two opinions regarding the mount size. If the height of the stamp is 30mm, one said to purchase a mount size that is equal to or nearest to the height, while another said to add about 5mm to height and order that mount. Any suggests on mount size selection, etc. Thanks.

Eventually you'll end up with an array of mounts. There's usually a 'gauge' mark on the outside of the strip holder that allows you to compare the height of the stamp you want to mount.

I try to match the stamp as exactly as I can to the mount height as ai can without endangering the perfs Sometimes there just is not adequate sized mount, so I just go with the next larger.

I'd stongly recommend getting a 'ortho cutter' made by Showgard, or get a good paper cutter so the mounts are consistently cut at right angles.
