We've re-opened the reply to threads in the buy/sell/trade area. I believe we've gotten to the root of the problem and that it is no longer necessary to restrict replies. Please contact me if you have any questions.

    I would like to draw your attention to;
Two Pence Blue SG4/6 on the Auction Listing.
Do you condone this sort of behaviour?
One member described a perfectly good stamp as damaged and I responded by assuming he was being sardonic.
    The monitor blames me.
When I explained my opinion on how a forum should work he tells me it is a private dictatorship.
If I cannot say what I like in an open forum, what can I say?
It would have to be a very complex set of rules if we are not allowed to be open.
How did you choose this individual to represent you?
Am I even allowed to ask these questions?
What are you hoping to achieve with this 'forum'?

  4. Having just read the thread in question, no offense is intended, but rega it appears you (1) are very easily offended, and (2) are perceiving persecution where none exists.

Instead of exploding in a fit of ire, perhaps you could have asked the person who criticized your stamp where he saw the damage. Flying off the handle at the first sign of adverse opinion doesn't go over well.

Ranting away at a moderator goes over even worse...

    Peter,
I posted a couple of links today to other profit making sites and then afterward wondered if I was infringing any rules by doing so. My only motive was to provide information to other members I have no financial stake in either company. If this is something you do not wsh to see please let me know and I will not do it again.

Doesn't seem to be a problem. Even if it's a commercial site, I actually encourage everyone to post about their favorite dealers.

Thanks Peter, you are so laid back for an administrator, I mean this in a nice way.

We're not here to be tyrants. If you, or anyone, did something you shouldn't, we'd just give a heads up. That's how the board is kept fun and friendly.

I have a confession to make here, I joined another club a bit back and they were so rule filled it sort of left an impression on me.

    Hi, Peter.
I´ve tried to open your link, to read about the Exchange Rules, but I wasn´t able to do it, I received an error message. Is there another way to acess the rules page?

You're right, the link is dead. I'll have to fix it up. The rules are quite simple though, mostly pertaining to keeping the language clean.

As Peter says, we are really laid back here. Just keep language clean, respect other's opinions and try to avoid politics and you'll be fine. If you misstep by mistake, someone will let you know. :)

Thanks for the clarification! I was looking for the 'rules' too. It's nice to see such a welcoming and friendly environment, especially for a newbie like me.

The rules seem pretty easy going and laid back. It seems like a fun community where like minded people can come together. I hope I can make friends and start my stamp collecting journey pretty soon. I will test the waters first and do some research to see which stamps are in demand the most before I spend any money.

You might find that it is more fun to simply collect something that you like unless of course you are intent on starting a business
