Here is a link to a great list of everyday terms (and a few obscure ones LOL) that are used in our hobby A great resource for the beginner and the more advanced collector

This should be the first Stop for anyone who is starting with the idea of stamp collecting - put the link up top so newcomers could be referred to this necessary infomation.

Maybe it is because it is still a good reference to colour, paper thickness, size, and perfs and cancel if it has. ;)

    Wow, thanks a lot Steve!

I am fairly new to the whole collecting scene and this has absolutely taught me things I didn't know before!

Maybe I am missing something... but the link goes to some company's "TERMS of sale." Maybe the original page has been moved?

Maybe we members could make a list between us and put it somewhere in the introductions.
You know like a team work project (such fun).

Yes, but that is a term we seldom use in the States. Here it is everything philatelic. LOL!

Yeah, I was exactly in the same situation that I already thought I stamp collecting is as simple as putting stamps to a scrapbook. I never knew that there is much more deeper element into it. Now this makes it all the more exciting for me.
