According to Michel cat.souvenir sheets were sold to the public from the issue of Nov.7,1959 onwards.See post # 42. Other than the earliar issued 120 different s.s.,what were given to officials as presents only. The first few of those what were sold,were printed in small numbers of 2000 each.These are quite expensive. The above is the earliast I can show.Print: 5000.
40th anniversary of the "March Revolution" In 1919 people,mainly peasants,demonstrated for the independece of Korea from Japan.The movement was crushed by the Japanese. However Japan revised her policy in Korea and gave the Koreans more rights.Insofar the March Revolution is considered as a success in Korea. Stamp issued March 1st,1959 (s.s. exists).
