No sadly. I did have a shot at buying one at auction once, but 10K was a little steep and I think they're overrated IMO.
The way I see error stamps/coins is that they are sub-standard. Therefore, they are not worth extra to me. Obviously, others see it differently.
I admit I did bid up over 3K and praying I didn't win because if my wife seen that kind of loot gone from my account she'd be looking for plane tickets and suntan lotion...lol I'd get skinned alive! lol
I also see error stamps less important than normal used old stamps. Although I know in reality, there are some who sees it more valuable since it was one of the kind for them.
These are all very nice stamps! I hope, one day, I can have such a nice collection. I especially like the shield and eagle stamp. The locomotive is pretty cool, too.
I have a few 116's and just looked into buying the proof. I'll get it it's just going to take some haggling on my part. lol Very nice Pictorial BTW! My FAVORITE issues by far!! I still need 112 used and sound, Hard for me to find for whatever reason?
I thought I'd share these too! Thank you ratio411 for your contribution to my 1st page of these and I hope your happy with your stuff too. I spelled Relevant wrong didn't I? EDITED: I fixed it.
These are neat too! Nothing particularly special but I was always partial to the souvenir sheets. These are Scott#948 (Washington & Franklin), #1075 Statue of Liberty, #1311 SIPEX Expo sheet. Plus the "little" one #749? I could never correctly ID that one..I mean finding in the scotts catalog is a real challenge for some odd reason. The original perforated one was in a charcoal grey black and that one IS #749 but the correct SC no. is lost on me for the moment...lol
