If you drop your book in water again, or it gets damp. Put paper towns between the pages, and press the book under an heavy object, Do it right away, and it might save your book from cockling :)

    Meanwhile, enjoy your current read.

I have soaked thousands of stamps off paper and never had a problem with rippling or cochling or whatever it is. I soak my stamps in warm water and make sure all the gum is off. Then I press them between two paper towels to get the heavy moisture off. I then put them on my desk under a light until they are 3/4’s dry. I then move them to a piece of white acid free card stock, filling the page if possible. Place another piece of acid free card stock on top and stack books on top of that. The next day they are ready to place into your collection. Sometimes I will do 5 or 6 pieces of card stock with stamps in between each sheet under a stack of books. I have 8 pieces of card stock that I use over and over. At least 15-20 times before I discard them. Most of my stamps are old, high end, not regular postage on paper stuff. Hope this helps!

Like you I have soaked a lot of stamps. I take care not place too many in the bowl at once, change the water after each smoking session and then let them dry on a paper towel. Once they are substantially dry I place them between two fres paper towel sheets and place heavy books on them overnight. Stamps seem to be fine. Also always use tongs to handle them and let them separate from the backing on their own.

Good points RVA! Yes change water often and do not get too many in the Q. One of the areas of my collecting is trading/saving stamps and they tend to have color security background printing and if wet to long you loose some of that printing as well as coloring your water.

I have heard mixed results with the final step being between paper towels. Probably depends on the brand, thickness and texture. With card stock you will not have that issue.

Oh and wash hands after every smoking session [emoji23]

    Happy soaking!
