Thanks man...I been trying to find 1 but most of them have a big black postmark covering most of the loco.
for some reason i don't think they canceled stamps with collectors in mind. but they should have! lol
i've never bought one that was pen canceled, but i do have one in my collection. my sc#11. i won't ever part with it, despite the pen cancel.
Leaving for a few day's but bought these in a pack at the coin shop LOL among coins also. View attachment 859 View attachment 859 Sandy

I recently got this ,amongst other nice things, from a friend and forum member. It's in relatively good condition and I'm very happy to add it to my humble little collection! Although it's not technically a stamp it does belong with the Columbian world exposition Chicago tickets and stamp issues. Obverse: Reverse:
What's wrong with a pen cancel? Just looking for your opinions, I have never heard anyone say that, but I am a relative newbie. I just look for eye appeal. Some cancels ruin a stamp, some don't, and some even add to the eye appeal. None of these conditions seem to apply to one type of cancel, nor does one type of cancel seem to garauntee any one result. The ONLY cancel that ruins a stamp every time, IMHO, is a 'cut cancel'.
