In my SG Catalogue (2006) SG 3 may be identified as a 2a pale violet at a catalogue value of £ 2.25. Your estimated value is again totally misleading to say the least and I would like to see a readjustment to your proposed offer. Your so-called curved overprint is not seen here nor applicable.
"Curved" may also be alien to what it could be. An overprint can be very slightly arced ( or curved) which rarely happens during the overprinting process. I have not seen similar on this issue altrhough a Borneo overprint issue is known to have a missing portion of the overprint causing it to look curved. Overprints tend to have such slight deviations because they are mostly overprinted by the Home Country not the original printing Country or Firm like the Crown Agents etc. Normally the setting is just poorly done not really causing a arced overprint at all. Depending on the type of overprint and the way the sheet is fed to overprint, a KISS effect may look curved or arced by a dubbel overprint. This is due to the stamp actually being curled slightly when overprinted, found on some values of the 1900 Orange Free State British Occ. issues. This overprint is however straight forward.
Wow great one to cut my Exchange teeth on. Egyptian post offices were opened in Somaliland in the late 19th century using stamps originally intended for India and it was therefore necessary to overprint them with local identification. This was done by hand and resulted in a variety of errors, all of which have risen considerably in value since, due to their increasing rarety. Of them all, the rarest was the 'curved' overprint. Over to a reputable Californian dealer for value; " Q Victoria of India, overprinted "BRITISH SOMALILAND" at T, VARIETY - curved overprint, only 42 were printed, very few were used, well centered, lightly canceled, Net Est $1,550.00 Los Angeles, California 90036-5816" If you look at the bar of the 't' at the top and then at the line of the lower word you will see that there is definite curvature. Also looking at what else tantrumstamp is offering on the site it is plain they are a dealer rather than an enthusiastic collector, so we can be assured that the item is what they claim it to be. Some dealers would be asking considerably more for this stamp and there within lies the problem; I personally believe. Had the upper premium been quoted, we would have been more likely to accept the stamp as genuine. Either way I cannot afford it (laughing here) but if I had a few dollars kicking around I would snap it up without hesitation.

Yes the one on ebid is straight and once again you have proved the validity of the curved overprint, who's case are you actually trying to pursue?. Keep up the messages Eric, it makes the forum such fun.....
The only solution is as said very simple. Get a certificate from a traceable reputable source then we are all winners. If I had money to splash I would buy this item get it certified if genuine and if found to be false the seller would have a problem. The latter is probably the reason it is not offered on ebay but here, where there are no such guidelines or restriction as on ebay.
