Series of 1924,the first in the new Renten-Mark,later that year renamed Reichs-Mark currency. This card was sent May 14th,1926.
The first "Bild-Postkarte" -series of Germany was issued in 1926. "Bild-Postkarten" were popular in Germany,Austria and Switzerland. Several thousands different were issued over the years. By the way this card shows Schweinfurt. This city was the most intensively bombed place in Germany during WW II. In Schweinfurt Fichtel & Sachs were located, specialized in the production of ball-bearings.Without them you cannot build any machines,cannons,air-planes,ships,or you name it. So the allied idea was to wipe out that industry. But they didn“t succeed. The production ran hardly hampered at all till the end of the war. However the civilian parts of the city were nearly destroyed one hundred percent.
