Just getting into the spirit of the season! I saw this one on the USPS website today, haven't seen one in real life yet. Looks neat, even if it is a modern stamp!
I'm kinda cheating.. My favorite Christmas stamp this year is this circle date STAMP. It is an as yet unrecorded town cancel from Little River, Cal Dec 25 1922.
I remember that cartoon show with Burl Ives and the Island of "misfit toys". Those are really cute stamps too.
Thats a beautiful stamp! Really looks festive and would make receiving a letter cheerful and exciting to know that Christmas wishes have come from somewhere
Thats an old one and it is really classic and elegant, love it! I hope others can be posted here in the spirit of Christmas for us all to see and countdown.
Hochstrasse: Great choice for the magi Christmas stamp. It is an iconic design that is a welcome respite, in my opinion, from the Madonna & child stamps. The art work looks original. Others apparently share your opinion as this stamp is already sold out at the Post Office's online site. That's amazing for a Christmas stamp, especially considering there are several other designs to choose. Here's a link to the PO sold out statement: https://store.usps.com/store/browse...&productId=S_689704&categoryId=holiday-stamps So, if anyone wants the magi stamp for their Christmas cards, the only option now is the local post office. Hope you are not flooded out by the recent storm on the west coast. Don
I hadn't realized that the stamps was sold out at the "cave", but I agree it's a nice diversion from the usual Madonna & child stamp that I usually see. Hope to get one on a Christmas card then. We got about 3 1/3 inches in the past 24 hours here where I live. The only inconvenience I experienced was staying indoors all day, but lots of people had hardships around the Bay Area.
Sounds like a good opportunity to work on the stamp collection. Good to hear you are staying dry, relatively so anyway. Don
Nice colors in this stamp. Looks like it might be an adaptation from a medieval illuminated manuscript. Don
