I guess that must mean there isn't a post office at Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu in New Zealand. :)

Yes, it's a real name. I only know it because I remembered a late 1976 song "The Lone Ranger" by the UK band Quantum Jump.

    Nice trivia!
I doubt if I could pronounce it well as well as memorize that. :p
It will be great to know how they come up with such hard to remember name.

Haha so true. Its really hard to call out that name. I am sure most of the locals there would be having trouble to pronounce it even. Such a long name, makes it even more difficult to spell it LOL.

The name means: [St.] Mary's Church (Llanfair) [in] the hollow (pwll) of the white hazel (gwyngyll) near (goger) the rapid whirlpool (y chwyrndrobwll) [and] the church of [St.] Tysilio (llantysilio) with a red cave ([a]g ogo goch).

Very interesting, but also very linguistically challenging! I'd love to visit Anglesey and more specifically Llanfairpwllgwyngyll.

I am reasonably sure I heard the train does not run anymore and the station has been turned into a little museum. Does anyone know if this is true?

I've been to England, but not to Wales. I would jump at a chance to go :)
