Yesterday, DonSellos asked that I post a few examples of FDC with Curtiss Poormon cachets. At the time, i was in the middle of some things, so I suggested a quick search on Ebay (search for FDC poormon) which would show you a list with some good examples. I have to say that I was a little surprised at the prices being asked on Ebay. Anyway, I am going to attempt posting a scan of two Poormon FDCs of mine that were not listed on ebay. I have never tried uploading to this forum, so I have my fingers crossed lol.

Very nice! From a philatelic perspective, are these not maxim cards instead of first day covers?

    These are what I'd consider a standard sized envelope for FDC measuring about 6.5 x 3 5/8 inches (9.2 x 16.5 cm).

I'll post more scans when I have a little free time.

Then they are certainly covers and not maxim cards.

The ones I have seen on ebay seem to be overprized. There are other offers
around $ 30.- each in the net.Curtiss Poormon seems to have been a prolific
painter.Of several of his hand-painted FDCs he made more than fifty each.

I agree, the covers listed on ebay right now are way overpriced. I've paid anywhere from $30 to $60 for most of what I have. Some covers have only 20 made while others 175. His paintings, as well as his covers, seem to leap off the page.
