    US-troops occupied the Ryukyu-islands in April 1945.
    1945 local mail was gratis.1946 no stamps,but FEE-PAID
cancellations were in use. From 1947 onwards stamps of
Japan handstamped with different seals were used.
On July 1st,1948 the first Ryukyu stamps were issued.
In 1952 a local japanese government was was created.
The northern islands were returned to Japan in 1953,the
    southern islands in 1972.
I do not have all but most Ryukyu stamps and will show, what
    I can in reverse order.

    years,prices returned to normal.

There was even more speculation in the souvenir sheets, what were issued with each of the opera stamps. These the only s.s. ever to
be issued in the Ryukyus were printed in a quantity of 125.000
    each.

Your post is really interesting, and I saw there some stamp pieces that I'm unable to see it here in my country. "Used as 1 Anna stamp, issued June 1st,1942" this one is amazing natural, it is hand made right? We had here only a few such stamps that are very rare now!
Thanks for sharing, your post is relevant and informative!
