Yes! ha ha I still need one and better yet a #2. I have a buddy on another board that specializes in the U.S. scott #1 Benjamin Franklin issues and can tell you what variety, month and maybe day it was printed as well as who inked the plates at the mint that day! Let's just say he's very enthusiastic and passionate about that stamp. If you post a high resolution scan of it I'll show it to him and he can give all the info there would be on it -definitively! (If you wish of course)

    Hi Jay,

Age before Beauty ! Never said it to be USA #1 and was just a little word play.
I am sure some are quite knowledgeable as they should be as they have been around a while.

Never have collected US in general probably I neverhad access to any. I did however collect anything on the Space front since the Fort Bliss Centennial which depicts a German V2 on the value that facinated me as I colected Rocket mail from Germany and in general (Not Indian). I even called my dog Laika.

Like everything else - all things come, to pass.

    I disagree.
I fill holes in my album (pre-1930) with whatever I have to fill the hole, then upgrade as the oppurtunity arises.
My page 1, for example, would be empty if I only put unused stamps in my album, and I can't see the expense of buying 2 sets of albums so used and unused are not mixed.

That said, I have some holes to fill in the 1990s, and those are so common, I see no need to mix in used stamps, it's just a matter of gathering them as I think about it.
