I think if that was not the error, the error is the crown being out of the frame.

I was being a smart ass...they were scanned upside-down, and I couldn't resist the jest That out of the way, I'll take a proper look at them

 

The red one pence stamp has a different decoration surrounding the figure head. So, either you snook in a stamp from a different series or someone messed up the printing.
