I can't fine the SG # ? for Scott 738, the flat plate printing with perforation of 11 x 11.

I do have the SG # 736 for Scott 737, the rotary press printing with perforation of 11 x 10 1/2.
    Is the SG # 737?

    The stamp is
    Series: 1934 Commemorative
Description: Mothers of America : “Portrait of my Mother” by Whistler
    Face Value: 3 cents

SG World is just an " overview" sometimes you have drill down further for variations via a specialised catalogue

    Anyway , hope they helped

??? are you agreeing with me here - or disputing  only I am confused ( well more than normal that is )

No I am not disputing the finer details can be very interesting from one catalogue to another. The Scott's gave me all the numbers and the other main catalogue is SG. I was trying to get both sets of numbers for reference. And not having the SG and not using it as I use the Scotts it gets tough. Disputing you, no way your are THE Bionicbelly.:p
