I had a very expensive visit to a stamp fair yesterday. (They spelled it fayre). After departing with this months mortgage and grocery money one seller took pity on me and though he would not reduce his asking price for what I wanted, he gave me some stamps free.
The only trouble is I have absolutely no idea what they are or what they are worth.
"Just a minute", I thought, I bet my new friends on the Exchange will know.
Who would like to enlighten this poor amateur?

They are brand new and have no marks on the back at all.

They were issued on September 24, 1985. (I know we put the day after the month in the States.... lol) The value for mint unhinged is $5.75, which is about 3.70 pounds.

They are some nice stamps, great find.

One way is to simply google stamps of Alderney or look on ebay/ebid/delcampe that will give you a price that it is going for today

    Boys,
I managed to palm those stamps off onto a friend, who is going to sell them on the net.
I did not tell him I was given more (tee-hee)
Would anyone know what this set is worth, as I have tried to find them, but I am floundering.
    Help!!

    Hi west

I'm a ebay junkieon it most days, you can go into ebay as a guest to have a look around. You only need to be a member if you are gong to buy and sell.
    David

By the way a nice little set

Although I have to add that delcampe looks smarter and I am inclined to suspect that the clientelle is more expert

The biggest problem I have on Delcampe is the search function which is hard to master, it is the one area that eBay excels over Delcampe.

Some sites let you view X amout of listings, most let you view all listings which would be more SCPC friendly, afterall they are tring to sell.
