Yes, I enjoyed reading it! BTW - I asked the ADSA on their Facebook page what issue had the most current NS dealer list...I'll post if I hear back from them. Mine is I think 2010 but I cannot find it looked everywhere...got shelved or boxed with the wrong material I think...I'll have to pull boxes when wifey is away or she'll have a purple cow seeing everything out. Once I was sorting chess books and she saw that I had five copies of the same 19th century book...she said a few not-very-lady-like things.
I will send you a copy of mine for the interim, but you may not be able to read it, too fuzzy. Re: the story. I was surprised to read of so many dealers on NS in the '70s and '80s. I thought they were mostly gone by then. Don
Alfons Stach is not on the ASDA list, but he may have been an employee in one of the dealer's shops. Is there a message on the other side of the card? Don
Molokai....thanks,very interesting.I believe this card is not genuine as it is dated 1942 ,addressed to 99 Nassau St.According to this article,he was still at 116 Nassau St at that time. There is also no message so it appears the address was added at a later date.
I am going to start nibbling at some of the auctions on StampAuctionNetwork. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has used it - and also on experiences with auction dealers. Thank You, - Molokai
I have made a few bids over the last 2 years but have never been successful.Make sure you read all the conditions carefully. Some auctions have a buyer/seller premium, sometimes up to 20percent,and there is also VAT on some auctions. Then you have to figure in the shipping charges. It might be ok if you are looking for country -specific collections but for individual stamps or sets,I much prefer Ebay or Delcampe. Anglobob
While auction lots have some good items in them, they are too expensive for me and the auction houses always drop my name from the mailing list as a low ball deadbeat bidder. Don
