Are there any stamps of presidents of other countries? I know the Commonwealth stamps have the Queen on them, but what about other places?
I think that there has been a Winston Churchill featured on a U.S. stamp, but I don't have it. I do have these two, which apply in a round-about way. One is Queen Isabella of Spain, and the other is Sam Houston, who was the President of Texas from 1837-1845 when it was an independent republic.
How about a couple of presidents from South America. Simon Bolivar of Venezuela 7 August 1813 – 16 July 1814 Tomas Berreta of Uruguay 1947 James
That's a nice "photoshopped" image, not a real stamp though. Anything the President does, consumes or uses generates interest. I doubt he has promoted it. Very interesting Zee!
I bet we aren't too far away from sponsorship on U.S. stamps. The USPS is losing too much money to not think about it.
Hello all, no input for a month on this topic, so I thought I'd add a King. King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Thai full title is “Phra Bat Somdet Phra Poramintharamaha Bhumibol Adulyadej Mahitalathibet Ramathibodi Chakkrinaruebodin Sayamminthrathirat Borommanatbophit” He is also known as Rama IX, as he is the ninth monarch of the Chakri Dynasty. Having reigned since 9 June 1946, he is the world's longest-serving monarch. The stamps below show images during the kings life. The central stamp is gold foil. It looks better in the scan than on stamp.. Date of issue: 2007-12-05 (HM's birthday) Regards, James.
Especially if he lived in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales, UK James
