I am struck by the many manual labor scenes on the agricultural stamps out of Asia. Is that still the norm for the region or are the stamp issuing authorities trying to portray traditional farming methods now long past? Don
Don, I think it´s both.But I think it is quite logical,that in poor,less developed countries manual labour is more widespread than in developed places. Werner
From Iceland, Sc. 264, 1950, farmer on tractor plowing field. The same image is on the 20 aurar and 75 aurar stamps of this definitive series. I'd say the tractor is either a Ford or a Massey-Ferguson. The image is too small to be certain of which it is. Don
