I can't find any information about this. Please tell any knowledge you have! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi yeahboiantiques, It appears to be a documentary revenue stamp, third issue. See Scott design # R12, specifically Scott R135 in the revenue section of the Scott U.S. specialized catalog. Note also that these stamps were printed with "various frames and numeral arrangements" Value? I can't say. I don't collect revenues and my catalog is old. It lists a block of four @ $1.00. You will probably need to find a specialized revenue catalog to check the value of the specific design of your stamps. Don
Not being a collector of Revenues,I have no better information than my old Scott.Don is correct with design R12,Scott no.R135,but it could also be Scott no.R151.The paper appears to be greenish. But that may be due to the quality of the scan. What puzzles me: Scott only gives prices for for used stamps up to no.R152.Would be interesting to know why that is.
The are found in the back of the stamp catalogs. They are sometimes referred to as back of the book stamps or BOB for short. For the current values of stamps I check the ended sold listing of eBay. You could also pay to have them appraised. It might take a little time and effort to research an item but I believe the knowledge you gain is worth the effort.
