I´d had a look at coin-talk.The same problem there ! Probably this type of forums is helpless against such insane people. And Pete doesn´t seem to have much interest at all. The only remedy could be a stop for accepting new members, unless they make an initial post, what would have to be approved by one of the moderators. But if this can be possibly done within the framework of this forum, I do not know. So it seems that the cleaning-work will remain with the moderators. Thank you very much, that you soldier on,day after day !
Past three days I have removed dozens of spammers. It is bot driven. I think if new members had to be approved by admin this might stop the problem.
I have also removed dozens of these spam messages .Unfortunately,it appears admin has no interest in changing things.
I do understand the owner of the forum is about to make changes that will stop the spam. Thank Yto to him as I do like and often use this forum.
Bickerstonehall....I admire your confidence in the proposed changes. These have been supposedly in progress for ages but nothing has been done.Meanwhile spammers get free access and legitimate new members are put off by these messages. After a while, even regular posters get tired of this and disappear.
This is great news. I have been getting a lot of so-called replies, with "phishing" warnings from my server just delete them straight away.
