No ne No need to apologise Jeff, it is not always possible to discern tone from an internet message. Even if you could hear me speak you probably would not catch half of my English plumby tones anyway [smiling here]
It's all good. I thought you got angered by my post and I wasn't sure if you was from America or Europe somewhere or where, and I know some countries refer to money as banknotes and if you don't collect USA you may not have known that. That was all I meant.
if they are pre bureau they don't have the little triangles in the upper right & left of the designs and post bureau do. The Continental & the National banknote engraving Co. done the pre and the Bureau of printing & engraving done the latter. That's a story in itself as that's where the "secret marks" came from.
Ratio411 still willing to do those Postage due sets? I'll go all in if you want, Just let me know OK? -Jeff
Ok here is a few banknotes I got the other day. I really like that 159 and the blue cancel for some reason. I'm really getting enthused about these banknotes. The more I learn the more I want to learn about them. What a fascinating story these issues carry. Enjoy! #159 - #219D - #221 - #272 -
