Hi everyone! I'm needing some expert guidance in identifying one of my stamps. I know the blue one (right) is a 63 (unless I'm off on that one), but what is the 'grey' one? Neither have any watermarks or grills. Thanks for any assistance!

    Are these both 63s.png

    Hi Notional,
According to Scott the A24 design is only in blue. The grayish stamp therefore must be a color changeling where the blue has been altered either by sunlight or chemicals.

Makes sense. I thought about that, but didn't know enough to be sure. Thanks!

There is a wonderful book about this very stamp. The United States 1c Franklin 1861-1867 by Don Evans. 417 pages!
