Hello Everyone! Thank you for allowing me to be part of this forum. I started collecting stamps several years ago and continue to have an interest in worldwide stamps. Stamp collecting for me is more than a hobby its a source of learning and I enjoy reading a stamp and sharing with others what I learn. I also enjoy trading, buying and selling stamps. I look forward to connecting with other collectors. Ann (USA)
Welcome AnnTom ,I have also recently joined this forum and found the members friendly and helpfull, and picked up quality information from the members post .
Love the name AnnTom. My mother is called Ann and my father is called Tom. I found my appreciation of geography and history both benefited from being a philatelist, so I know what you mean. How do you collect? I go for a country at a time, but I don't think this is the usual aproach.
What a bunch of warm and friendly people!!!!!!!!! Thank you ALL for the welcome. Thats interesting Rega! One thing I fretted about was that my stamps get put away in an album and then they can be seen and appreciated only if that book if physically opened. Its hard to show them off to someone else too because they are all in books or packets. So I decided to take out a few stamps every day at random and to spend some time with them see if I can learn something and then put photos of it online to share with others and perhaps encourage them in their collecting. What this is doing for me is it keeps me well informed and is beginning to giving me the satisfaction of getting those stamps/information out!. In studying stamps I don`t focus on a particular country at a time but rather shift from one to another depending on what interests me. This would also benefit a wider range of collectors. Lets see how it goes!!!
WELCOME ABOARD AnnTom!! I look forward to seeing a bit of and learning from you and your collection! Glad to have you..
