This was sent to me about nine years ago from Bill Weisman. A guide to determine Grill types. Help but more difficult if there adhered IMG_20201206_0001.jpg IMG_20201206_0002.jpg IMG_20201206_0003.jpg IMG_20201206_0004.jpg IMG_20201206_0005.jpg IMG_20201206_0006.jpg to a cover.

Seems to me to be very much an US-matter.

I used my method to look at the back i placed the cover in front of a strong light, opened it to look at the inside behind the stamp. No Grill! The smearing of the cancel at first glance gives a line effect but there are no grill lines. I all so use this to look for stamps that might have been printed on the gum side as well.

Yes Richard I will post some grills of mine when I get a chance to photograph them. I have a nice grilled banknote on piece I'll try to post tomorrow or the day after.

I have to apologize for the poor quality of the photographs, it's a hit and miss thing with my decades old digital camera. It's a 15c Daniel Webster large banknote with grill.
