French stamp ID

    I couldnt ID this one and would appreciate any help.
    This is the first time I see a handwriting on an old stamp.

    It looks like a revenue stamp and pen cancellation to me, but can't help with I.D. Scott catalogs don't list French revenues.

    Pen cancels were commonly used on U.S. revenues and I suspect other countries used the same method.

    I have quite a few of the older US revenues with signature/pen cancellations... many from the 1860's.

    Hello Makanudo, my understanding of French is almost non-existant. If I have read the text correctly it translates as:

    100f and under audit
    Receipts from east

    Maybe we have a French speaker that can correct this and decipher the script.

    Its a same stamp, different cancel only.
    I shall find something about it.
