Great Christmas stamps on this link. http://www.philatelicdatabase.com/topicals-thematics/christmas-angels/
Yes Zee there are some very nice traditional theme Christmas stamps there. A nice site for the topical collector.
Just what I needed... another place to spend money . Reviewed some of the listings... maybe I can squeeze another 7 minutes on Thursday after 11PM to shop... thanks for the link!!
Really like this site... did you see they had a 'Humor' page? Borrowed this one because it describes the hobby quite well... "Stamp Collecting is the hobby of paying large sums of money for tiny pieces of paper that people have spit on."
Found that site by accident for the same reason... ID of all the 2c reds mostly. I have a couple of 'sewing boxes' (about 18" X 9") that have movable compartments... have also used 'fly fishing' boxes as sorting beds. I started by sorting them out visually to different types just to break it into smaller groupings but I have so many that it will take a long time to go further.
Used to get the print copy of the mag but quit because I moved so much; started the digital subscription some time ago and selected the weekly updates. Well worth the few bucks I spent on it!
I have a lot of the Duck stamps... I only collect the Unused versions though. Not quite all of them but I am getting closer...
Agree about the estate sales... Got a lot of stamps and coins that way. Most of them of average collector value... the auctioneers usually pick over the offerings first but sometimes they 'miss' some real gems, such as the story below. My wife is into Oriental rugs and paid $90 for a room-size rolled rug at an estate sale in Michigan. We took it home to Tennessee, had it cleaned, and gave it to my mother (my wife already had one in her great room), who went to a carpet cleaner to find out how to get small spot out without ruining the fabric. Long story short: the rug was worth middle 4-digits because of the thread count, color, etc. And yes, my mother has it in her living room now... very proud of it!!! So I would recommend EVRYONE at least look at estate sales... never know what you will find.
I like the name of the site... people are so creative at times. Being from the era where 8 character file names were a great limitation (LONG before the WWW!!), the sky is the limit!
I had this YP bookmarked at one time and lost a lot of links when I changed computers (crashed a hard drive). Thanks for the pointer!
Great link... most of the folks I buy from are ASDA members... they have a good internal (and not-so-public) 'self-policing' policy that keeps some of the not-so-good sellers honest... otherwise you can't be a member.
SATX you can't be more right about buying from an ASDA member. My experience with members has been nothing but positive. Like the APS, their code of ethics precludes them from taking advantage of collectors.
Hello all, If anyone has an interest in Thai stamps visit: http://siamstamp.com/catalogue/?year=2014 It also has a member exchange directory listed by country. http://www.siamstampexchange.com/index.php Regards, James
Thanks for the tip! I have a very few Thai stamps but the ones I have are very colorful and very well printed. May take you up on that...
Good to see various Thailand stamps on the first link. The second link does not seem working right now. Thanks.
I think this blog is informative with nice stamps per countries. http://bigblue1840-1940.blogspot.com/2014/02/TheClassicalStampsofMozambique-Company.html
