The Kaptai-Hydro-Electric-Dam was completed in 1962.So my best guess is, that this air-mail-inland (?)-cover was issued at that time. The dam is situated in East-Pakistan (today Bangldesh),roughly 100 km north- east of Chittagong in the hill-region. issued 1971
Don, I really don“t know.It reminds me of something, but I cannot recall. Could be an air-plain,the down-pointing nose reminds of the Concorde. But could be a stylized bird as well.Possibly a Garuda ? Werner
Don, after posting the above,I typed Pakistan postal stationery and found a fine catalogue. The envelope is listed as from 1976.The design is a "stylized air-plane". Werner
Interesting item. Seems odd to me that the postage imprint is on a flap and the flap closes on the address side of the envelope. Don
A kind of postal stationery. It is from the Deutsche Post headquaters in Bonn. If my informations are correct,it is the only former post-office,now all called post-filiale,that is run by the Deutsche Post herself. All others are either franchised out, ususally in private shops or are run by the Postbank, what is now 100% owned by the Deutsche Bank. So none of the people working there are on the pay-roll of the Deutsche Post anymore ! The "cancellation" is printed and shows no date.
