i have a very large GB collection, and i do love my stamps, but feel we have been let down a little over the last 8-10 years and other countries are producing far better stamps in content and quality.

As a world wide collector i just love them all really so i should not moan lol

Narnia Sondermarken waren brillant weit besser als deutsche Briefmarken, unser Bestes gedruckten während Hitlers Aufstieg zur macht.

If you want a honest answer then no they are not, we produce far too many sets in a year and standards have dropped (just my opinion)

I think the fact that England has a monarchy helps them to retain the title of best stamp producers in the world. Canada is second because they love the royal family.

The Royal Family is British not simply English and has nothing to do with the production of stamps nor the quality of the stamps

  10. I believe the Queen's stamp collection is the best in the world and is valued at €7189123821.6377 !!!

Have you tried to remove a self adhesive stamp from a envelope recently?
As for the value of the Queens collection that has again nothing to do with stamp production does it?

This is a example of Good British Stamp design

British stamps come in two main forms loose or in a Presentaion pack, the pack contains quite a bit of info but I personally find them too hard to store well
I am not sure just how well the packs retain or gain value simply because I dont buy them
Sorry I can not be of more help on that one

As the Scots and and the Welsh both are now independant from England and have always had their own stamps, I think it is keeping up with the times to consider us English and Britain to be rather like Rhodesia and Persia, an historic term.

If you put the stamp in warm water it slides off the envelope and then can be dried on kitchen towel, I do this all the time with 100% success.

As with all antiques (which stamps are) the original packaging greatly adds to the value of the item.
They are easily sotred in a stock book with expanding spine.

Please Keep the Political discussion for a Political forum
And just to clarify before this gets out of hand Neither Scotland or Wales are Independent they have devolved parliments and the only stamps that they have are Regional Diffins not Commemratives
As far as I am aware the UK is still in existance and still comprises of 4 Yes Four Nations
