When I buy old collections on eBay, etc...I often run across cutouts from postal cards, stamped envelopes and wrappers which some long-ago collector saved with their collection. I tend to think of these as garbage but hang on to them nonetheless thinking that maybe there is a market for them somewhere or there might be some value that I was unaware of. India, in particular, is a country where I seem to have accumulated a lot of these from collections that I have bought. What does everyone else do with them? Throw them away?

i to have bundles of them, i have an unusual amount of KGVI nearly all 1/2d green and have often wondered why some one would collect so many, i have no idea what to do with them, but i would not throw them out.

one day i will find out why they were kept like this in the first place, and i hope it was because it gives them more value lol

I have a collection of them from the US. All others I tend to trade them or give them away. I would never throw them out, knowing that someone else might wont them.

Yes and here are some more examples from Boznia & Herzegovina, Hungary, Argentina, Austria and the Cape of Good Hope. When I didn't know any better I used to spend fruitless hours trying to figure out what they were in the catalog, thinking they were valuable 19th century imperfs not listed anywhere...then I caught on that they were simply cutouts from postal stationary. In the end I think it would be more useful to have the full postal card or wrapper than these cutouts. They are interesting nonetheless...
