    A commemorative cover, the 200th anniversary of the defence of Hougoumont. :)
    Should it be "defense" instead of defence or it was the old spelling or something?

    Hello Z, The English spelling is defence, modern American spelling is defense. In 1815 Americans would have used the English spelling too.

    They might have used the spelling "Defence" if they are quoting the name of the painting being depicted. That might be an image of a painting titled, "The Defence of Hougoumont".

    I actually like how they use the "$" as a decimal point in the denomination. Clever idea.
