    Even more surprising:
It does look colder, than it actually is.
According to Wikipedia the coldest temperature ever measured in
    Tromsö was - 18.6° C. (ca. - 1.5° F.) ! It´s the Gulf-Stream.
Normally in winter they have rarely less than - 10° C.

A cover from El Salvador. It has little, if any, philatelic value. It is from a bakery in San Salvador and I bought it on eBay solely for the colorful logo on the corner. It is franked with common stamps from two sets, one regular postage, the 8 centavos blue, and one airmail, the 10 centavos green, commemorating the 1948 revolution. The postmark is difficult to see distinctly, but it looks like it was posted in May, 1950. Strictly an impulse buy with no where to place it other than in the Commercial Covers album.

    Werner:

I am wondering if you might recognize the firm to which this cover is addressed, and, perhaps, provide some additional information about it?

I´m sorry,I cannot help. Was well before my time.
In the net I could find no more, than you already know.
Philatelie Equator was a publisher of book(s ?) and possibly
    of a short-lived stamp magazine,as well as FDC´s.

Here is a diminutive advertising cover I purchased on eBay a couple of years ago. It appears to have originated in Nevada, Iowa, and I originally intended it for my Iowa Covers collection, but put in Commercial Covers instead. It carried coupons for purchases of grocery items and household supplies at participating stores. The use of the iconic cartoon strip character Dick Tracy caught my eye (as it probably did recipients of the mailing) and that is my reason for buying it even though it is a permit mailing. The reverse is equally eye-catching. It dates from the early 1960s.

    A wrapper sent Sept.28th,1979
Quite remarkable, that the postage was 40 Pf. only.
Domestically, within in Germany, this was the rate for a postcard.
The paper sent with this wrapper was the DBZ (Deutsche Zeitung für Briefmarkenkunde).
The DBZ was and still is a philatelic paper in tabloid-size,published
twice a month. It usually contained close to 100 pages. So it was
    a quite voluminous,heavy paper.

This could have been a nice letter,if it would have an arrival-cancellation.But as it is,it likely never saw service, but is just
a FDC made to look like a genuine registered letter.

A "near impossible" cover. The stamps were for use of Indian
Police Force troops in Vietnam and not valid within India.
However at the time I send this letter (March 10th,1973),the stamps were on sale in Calangute P.O. in Goa.So I bought them,
put them on this letter and sent it home registered.

Your letter is franked with one of my favorite German definitive series. A nice, long set in use long enough to obtain a very fine used example of each stamp.

Here is a piece of advertising that I found in a dealer's junk box at the Grapevine, Texas stamp show a few years back. It is a full-page piece folded in half and mailed as bulk mail sometime in 1969. The reverse is a letter from Bill Burch's Service Station in San Antonio, Texas. Burch may have been a stamp collector to use this type of advertising. I bought the item because of its eye-catching illustration of world-wide stamps, and especially for its use of stamps for advertising non-philatelic products. Unfortunately, the free stamp case was not with the cover.

Here is an odd one. Never have seen anything about the Bank of Arts. Has anyone seen one of these or heard of Constantin St. Tsirimonis?

This letter is the "living proof",that it is possible even in modern
times to cancel letters nicely !
