Hello all, the worlds rarest stamp will be on display at the National Postal Museum. The stamp will be on display until November 2017. http://campaign.r20.constantcontact...a8639&ch=abb29720-da7e-11e4-8c9a-d4ae529a8639 Regards, James.
I went and saw this stamp today. It was very under-whelming. The stamp is very dark brown, and with the naked eye, you can't see any of the design on the stamp. It was still neat to see a unique, very valuable stamp.
I've never been to the National Postal Museum. It would nice to see the 1c Magenta, but I'm sure there are lots of other great stamps to be seen. Looking forward to a trip there down the road.
We don't have that here, how interesting! I have been to the big museum in the city where they have displays of dinasours and other artifacts but no stamp collections except for in the library books.
Call me crazy, but given the chance to see the 'coveted 1¢ magenta' & a dinosaur exhibit, I'd choose the Dinoex! Guess I'm not a 'true' stamp collector & just not impressed w/ all the hype. HG
Thanks Don & Gunny, Wasn't sure if I'd committed a 'philatelic sin' w/ my disrespect..LOL! HG² Hoc est, quid sit!
You're swearing in church <Golightly> but I agree with you! I read *somewhere* there is a doubt as to its even being legit. Anyone else read that and know where *somewhere* is?
EXCUUUUUSE ME! Molo, Should have typed 'Buttocks Ugly'. I guess I'm loosing it COMPLETELY as I just bid -on & won the Burundi Wildlife set, Scott 589a-601a...and I don't even collect anything that's not BCW! HG
Well, with all the newly appointed moderators on this site, I would not recommend any swearing. No other perks, sorry. Don
Dag-Nabit Don, I can't afford to become a WW collector, but I do like animals, even those dangerous ones. Might get off my lazy 'buttocks' and post a pic of this Burundi set, once received. (Now I have to deal w/ a 'chirping' window AC unit!) Regards, HG
Yes, world-wide collectors want to see that Burundi set, and pay no attention to the post above! W/W collectors have more fun. Always something new when one collects W/W. Don
Gee-Whiz Donaldo, Did not mean to kick a hornet's nest, as I think any variety of stamp collecting has loads of positives. ( I have to admit, however, the huge red circle w/ WW crossed out is eye-candy to someone who majored in Design & is Very well done.) To mis-quote QV-I "WE are highly amused" I DO plan on posting a scan of the Wild Life Burundi set, once received. Happy Collecting to one & All, Harry
