The lenticular printed,or tridimensional,or just 3-D stamps made Bhutan
    a popular,some may say notorious,stamp-issuing country.
I don´t know if they were the first,or wether there were any other
    3-D stamps issued anywhere else.
3-D stamps are not very practicable, because they are rather thick and
therefore stiff. They are about 0.8 mm strong and because of that
difficult to store in albums.I use vario-plastic pages. But even there they
are quite "lively" and move all the time. That is why they often are
    stored in boxes,making then invisible.
I still do own not all of them. Some are not so easy to find and prices
can be,for modern stamps at least, rather expensive.
    Here the first set:
    B 167.jpg
    issued Oct.30th,1967; (part I of 2)
    3 Ch. Gemini
    5 Ch. Apollo-unit
    7 Ch. moon-landing unit

The set was also issued in three souvenir sheets.
The design is unimaginative,to say the least.
But probably the stamps were printed as s.s.only and the sets were
cut out from s.s. The reason for my guess is,that the singles from sets
are all slightly smaller, than those of the s.s. Not by much, but just as
much as one might expect,if you try to cut them out, without a trace of
    white borders.

The set was issued perforated and imperforated.
(The frames and edges are coloured golden, what my scanner cannot
    show.)

Two souvenir sheets (I show one only, because the other one, with the lower values, looks quite similar) were issued on Oct.22nd,1968.
Half a year later than the set.
And again: a closer look shows, that there are slight differences between
stamps of the set and those from the s.s.
