On May 2nd,1966 two definitive stamps with face values of 15 and 20 Ch. were issued. They show monasteries of Bhutan. From then on several similar stamps were issued over the years. They all have in common theirs low face values.Naturally that made them cheap to purchase. But somehow they were not sold much through trade. Now they are not easy to find and have become rather expensive, although in a moderate way.For the two first ones, what I do not own,Michel cat prices have gone up ten-fold in the last few years. The pair now stands at Euro 8.-,what does not sound so much. But to find offers is the problem ! No such problems with this set.It was issued on July 8th,1966, honouring the Maharaja´s/King´s 40th accession to the throne anniversary. Shown are front at backs of jubilee-coins. The stamps are embossed,so that they appear like real coins. The back is covered by paper. (part I of 3)
The next issue is still on my wantlist: A set of 20 stamps, overprinted as airmail-series on variuos previous issues with a helicopter and the words AIR MAIL. AIR MAIL was printed either in a straight line or in an arc below the helicopter. Both overprints are placed on stamps side by side,so that the set is made up by ten pairs. Not expensive,Michel lists the set at € 24.-,but difficult to spot.
The souvenir sheet, what goes with the series, was sold for 6.25 Nu. It was issued perforated and imperforated.
Montreal Expo 67,issued May 25th,1967. Stamps of the New York Expo-set overprinted, see post #17/18. Issued perforated and imperforated.
Churchill and The Battle of Britain commemoration, issued June 26th,1967. Issued perforated and imperforated.
