How do you know what stamps to buy that you are interested in since you can't buy every stamp out there? Where is the best place to buy your stamps? Can you find stamps at flea market?
Well price plays a big part in what you buy no matter what your interests are (Unless you have unlimited funds LOL) yep you can find stamps at some flea markets but I do find they are a good hunting ground for postcards even if it is in poor condition check the back it might well have a very nice stamp on it
I collect the United States, Germany and modern China. Those are the countries I am interested in collecting so I look for that niche. That is not to say I don't collect other countries because I keep a global collection although I don't actively buy outside of my collecting interests. Yes, occasionally you can find collections at flea markets, estate sales or garage sales, but that isn't really the best place to find specific stamps. Online auctions, stamp auction houses or stamp bourses are a better bet for find specific stamps. I can't say how a person finds his/her own area of interest because that is a matter of personal taste, budget or level of energy/commitment. You have to ask yourself what kind of stamps really motivate you.

What makes people interested in stamps? I'm finding myself starting to become interested in them but I'm not sure why. I guess I like that they represent a piece of history as well as artwork.
The thread below could give the ideas. http://www.stampexchange.com/threads/what-keeps-you-motivated-to-collect-stamps.1398/
Question: How do you value a stamp and know whether its a good buy. How can you make a profit buying and selling stamps. There are so many questions I have and not enough time to ask them.
For me it is the art of the engraver (same with banknotes & coins) and the history behind many of them
I remember being asked by a little girl if stamp collecting requires a lot of care and dedication. This question is still smarter than most of the questions I'm usually being asked. And it would be lovely if people would be more interested in the origin of my stamps rather than if they were expensive or not.
