    I have 3 packs of Gibbons ready folded ( 2 unopened x 1000 ~ one opened about 500 at a guess)

If anyone uses these let me know and they will be in the post to you ( free )
( just hope they still work  )

Heck I still have a pack from 1963 and they work great! *(I use them in my journal on stamps I don't care much for but look cool enough to make the final cut...)

not the way I use 'em up; I go thru maybe 1000+ a year. I particularly dislike all current forms / types of hinges. 'Peelable" my ass. They either don't peel or they don't stick. I'd trade 1,000,000 of today's hinges for 100,000 of the old Dennison green hinges; those were peelable (for the most part).

'Anywho', I can't: (1) justify the cost of Hawid / Scott / Prinz mounts for cancelled common world wide [Hmm, let's see - 50 mounts per pack of pre-cut @ say $3 per package into 80,000 = (80,000 / 50) * $3 = 1600 * $3 = $4800. Nope - not gonna go there !], (2) justify doubling the volumes of my albums to accommodate the added thickness the mounts would add to each page. At least for the older pages in my albums where all the stamp pictures are close spaced, the extra width and height of the stamp mounts would get everything misaligned; discovered that 'problem' mounting my 160 or so Canal Zone stamps in the fancy mounts.

Not to be a snob - I do use the more costly mounts for my classic and mint US, as well as my classic and mint Canadian's. They make perfect sense where preservation of the MNH condition, or the $200+ stamp(s) justify not wanting to create 'thins' when removing the stamp(s) from the album. Or for improving the display in the specialized albums with the spacing that allows the stamps to be mounted without overlapping the mounts.

Nah I am distinctly " unhinged" Jay ~ mind you, licking hinges is nearest I am going to get to glue sniffing !

5.24am ? ~ It was a choice of listening to the wife snoring or making love to the dog == on balance my shed of stamps was the correct decision !;)

( I was actually in my shed at just after 4am )

I don't use hinges, but I know some collectors who will. I tried giving away about 3-4000 months ago here on the forum with no luck:(. I took them to my stamp club meeting and had half the room fighting over them.....so if you can't find someone to use them, let me know
