I normally look for the cheapest price and combined shipping, but if any of you sell on BidStart, I'd love to add you to a list so when possible, I can buy from you instead and support the forum's members. I'm sure others here would likely buy as well. If you sell on BidStart, post your auctions list here! I don't sell there, but I do buy. Here's my profile! http://www.bidstart.com/viewfeedback.php?owner=159116
Have bought many times from Bidstart, but have never sold anything there. On the otherhand, I have sold many things on Ebay.
This site has a 'FOR SALE' Title thread where such item can be offered. A good scan with a second of the reverse of the mor expensive items with a market related price may attract fellow collectors. The problem I see here is accountability of the seller/buyer which is built in by way of feedback and money-back guarantees in larger auction sites. Some established Fora have member want lists / offer lists. Admin does not involve itself with the trades between members. Members with unsavoury trades are quickly expunged by fellow members. Support the site, only by showing good clear scans you have a platform selling right here. Admin could take note that good programing could be introduced for a simple Member Funds In / Out could be introduced to facilitate transfer of funds between members. Such a sytem works really so well for members
There are some nice stamps for sale on here, but usually stamp interest goes hand in glove with other collectables. Do you think we could also advertise; cigarette cards, collectable magazines and other interesting memorabilia, or would you object to diversification? What are the rules about it please. Are you the one who started the club because you seem to be on here a lot and have very strong opinions? I am new so forgive any misconceptions I might have, but Mr. Stamp Exchange seems a faily ellusive character, unless it is you?
As this was a reply to my lament please take note:- My opinions carry the same weight as anybody els's. If they come across strong there may be an element of experience behind my statements. I do believe in only a Stamp Exchange site - philately, anything else would do well on an other more approbriate site and only clutter up this one as is already happening with three word posts. In all, it is up to admin to make decisions as they think best. and not me.
Sniping is the process, in a timed online auction (such as on eBay), of placing a winning bid at the last possible moment (often seconds before the end of the auction), giving the other bidders no time to outbid the sniper. This can be done manually, or by software. Has some one pinched a bargain
Sniping is also the art of getting someone or something in the cross hairs of your Telescopic sights LOL
I have had a look around Mike the tech and there does not seem a very high membership, the format looks really good and it is a pity, but it is tough to sell on there.
