I have had these for many years, I believe they came from 'Broadway Approvals' UK back in the 50s. VETEKEVERRIA & EMIRDITES do not translate in google but it autodetects Hungarian - still no translation. Any Albanian speaking collectors out there?

Scott: Stamps of these types (as shown above)
and with TAKSE overprint were unauthorized and
    never placed in use.
Michel is more blunt: Diese Ausgabe ist Mache.
    (This issue is bogus)

Hi - I have just obtained a translation for "Vetekeverria" from an Albanian speaker. "Vete" means "self", and "keverria" ("qeverria" in modern Albanian) means "government". So, the whole translation of the inscription on the stamp is something like "The self-governing (area / district / province) of Miridites". It took me several months to crack this - great to have scored a win! - Alistair, Scotland.

    Its a very nice place.
One of few areas in the world where blood revenge is normal and default.

Hello Alistair, first welcome to the forum. At this point I usually ask what do you collect? WW, countries or themes? and where in the world are you based please?

I hope to see more of your input, questions or answers or some scans of your stamps.

Thank you for the translation, I do not have any Albanian speakers in my village so had to rely on google translate and babel which more or less came to the same result.

    Regards, James.
