Sorry group, I found all kinds of FDC catalogues on eBay. Even ones dealing w/ British Commonwealth Issues only. Guess I'm getting too lazy in my old age. HG
Glad you found something Harry. The only ones I was aware of were the Planty and Malone catalogs and really know nothing about them. Don't remember ever seeing either one. Don
Hi Don, Thanks for making me feel quite so feeble! After I posted this thread I went to eBay & did a search for 'FDC Stamp Catalogues'....(completely ass-backwards) & something I should have done before asking this group. Anyway, eBay offered-up 641 examples of different FDC catalogues. True, not all 641 were catalogues, but the majority of the listing had a plethora to choose from. (I actually tried to return to this site and delete my thread, but lacked the electronic smarts to finalize the deletion. Perhaps a learning experience for me..Ha! Regards, Harry
No problem Harry. I frequently take the easy route and ask others rather than search for stuff. Asking also usually gives me the most appropriate, and best, information quickly. Don
Thanks to one & all who responded. Thought I had found my catalogue and it turned out to be for only GB FDC's! Poof! There goes another $20. Still looking for a catalogue listing British Commonwealth FDC's, if they exist. Tally-ho, HG
I once excitedly purchased a book on Boleslavsky - thinking it was the famous Russian chess grandmaster - alas, it was about the director Boleslavsky. Anything here, Golightly? Appears someone did them by decades for a time: https://www.philbansner.com/philatelic_literature/first-day-covers.htm
Thanks Molokai, Check out your link and unfortunately, No cigar! Nothing found that I could use. It's not like I am going to begin collecting fDC's, it's just that I have several & wanted to find out if I should just donate or sell. HG
